What Division Is Right For You?

Intermediate 3.0: This player is still focused on getting the ball back to the net but has improved their serving and hitting power as well as their overall consistency in the game.

- Premier level players may not play intermediate, and 2 Gold players may not play intermediate together.

Advanced 4.0: This player is starting to comprehend the skills required to play competitive roundnet. To this player, roundnet is no longer just a backyard game but a competitive sport that requires strategy to overcome the other team’s strengths and attack their weaknesses.

- 2 Gold players may not play advanced if a Gold division is available.
- No Hit Zone will not be played in this division

Advanced (NHZ) 4.5: This player is ready to put the skills required to play competitive roundnet to the test. This player plays regularly, can apply competitive roundnet strategy during the game, and wants to bring their game to the next level by playing with the no hit zone.

This player is not only able to serve at a high level, but be an all-around great roundnet player.

As we look to grow the sport we want to help the women’s side of the sport grow and create competition between ballers of all levels as we grow the sport. As the women’s division grows we will look to install different levels of competition for the women’s division.

If one of the divisions does not have at least 8 teams it will be combined with another division of similar skill-level.

Schedule:

The tournament will start with pool play in the morning, which determines seeds for bracket play in the afternoon. The schedule will look something like this but is subject to change based on the number of registered teams:

08:00-08:45: Check-in
08:45-9:00: Announcements
09:00-11:00: Pool Play
11:00-11:30: Lunch Break
11:30-5:00: Bracket Play

All divisions will play on grass or turf (cleats allowed) and courts will be lined with service lines and No Hit Zone lines (when applicable). All divisions will use Spikeball Pro Sets and Pro Balls throughout the tournament.

Gold 5.0: Podium finishers earn cash prizes if they are members of the LoneStar Roundnet Club Active Squad. If not currently members of LoneStar Roundnet Club, podium finishers qualify as long as all other qualification criteria is met.

Pools are seeded according to a team’s average Texas Top 100 rank. If one or more players on a team are not ranked on the Texas Top 100, teams will be seeded based on relative skill assessment, if possible. If a team’s skill level cannot be determined, they will be seeded randomly.

After seeding, teams will be placed into pools by snaking.

Pool play format will be determined by TASR once registration is closed and will change depending on the number of teams registered for a division. TASR may change this as needed to account for weather, large number of pools, inconsistent pool sizes, or other factors - but pools will typically use the following format:

• 4 teams / pool: best 2 out of 3 series to 21, hard cap of 25 or best 2 out of 3 series to 15, hard cap of 21

• 5 teams / pool: single game to 21, hard cap of 25 or best 2 out of 3 series to 15, hard cap of 21

• 6 teams / pool: single game to 21, hard cap of 25

• 7 teams / pool: single game to 15, hard cap of 25

Texas Gold Division: The Gold 5.0 Division is a qualification only division. To qualify for Gold 5.0 you must finish in the top 2 in the Advanced 4.5 division at a Texas Major or have received premier division status at an SRA tournament. Tournament Format

Pool Play

Pools are seeded according to a team’s average Texas Top 100 rank. If one or more players on a team are not ranked on the Texas Top 100, teams will be seeded based on relative skill assessment, if possible. If a team’s skill level cannot be determined, they will be seeded randomly.

After seeding, teams will be placed into pools by snaking.

Pool play format will be determined by TASR once registration is closed and will change depending on the number of teams registered for a division. TASR may change this as needed to account for weather, large number of pools, inconsistent pool sizes, or other factors - but pools will typically use the following format:

• 4 teams / pool: best 2 out of 3 series to 21, hard cap of 25 or best 2 out of 3 series to 15, hard cap of 21

• 5 teams / pool: single game to 21, hard cap of 25 or best 2 out of 3 series to 15, hard cap of 21

• 6 teams / pool: single game to 21, hard cap of 25

What Division Is Right For You?

Intermediate: You have played a tournament or two, but aren’t ready for fast serves and next level hits.

- Premier level players may not play intermediate, and 2 Gold players may not play intermediate together.

Advanced: You are ready to feel the heat of competition a little more but haven’t qualified for Gold yet.

- 2 Gold players may not play advanced if a Gold division is available.
- No Hit Zone will not be played in advanced

USA Roundnet Sanctioned Event

As a USA Roundnet (USAR) Sanctioned Event, this tournament uses USAR official rules, is hosted by a USAR certified TD, and all players are required to be USAR members. You can purchase your membership while registering for the tournament, but for more details can be found here. In short, this membership provides you with medical insurance coverage at USAR Sanctioned events, allows you to be nationally ranked, gives you USAR voting privileges, and provides you discounts on USAR merch and STS event registration.

What Division Is Right For You?

- Will be playing with No Hit Zone Rules

Women’s 4.0: This player is starting to comprehend the skills required to play competitive roundnet. To this player, roundnet is no longer just a backyard game but a competitive sport that requires strategy to overcome the other team’s strengths and attack their weaknesses.

As we look to grow the sport we want to help the women’s side of the sport grow and create competition between ballers of all levels as we grow the sport. As the women’s division grows we will look to install different levels of competition for the women’s division.

There will be a club squad tournament following the individual tournament. It will be a single elimination bracket with 3 team squads (2 team minimum) - clubs can compete with multiple squads! The College Station Major is our 12th TASR Major of our 2021 Tournaments and has divisions for players of all skill levels!
