Texas Nationals

Platinum Division

2021 Platinum Division Updates Coming Soon!

TASR Platinum.png

Texas Nationals will be featuring an exciting 16 Team Pro Style Tournament. Throughout the 2020 Majors series players will be accumulating points in order to qualify for the Platinum Division at the end of the year.

How it works

  • At the end of the 2020 season the top 16 players will earn a bid to the Platinum Division.

  • These 16 players have the right to bring any player they want into the division with them. This can be another Texas player or any player from the US or the world.

  • If they choose to bring another top 16 player with them into the Platinum Division then the next Texas player would get a bid (i.e. the 17th player would then get a bid)

  • All teams must be finalized 3 weeks prior to the event.

  • A Pro-Style Tournament format operates with series being played in pool play instead of single games.

Seeding

  • Seeding of the 16 teams will be determined by the fans in an online vote in accordance to who the fans think the top 16 teams are. This vote will determine the seeding and will run until Thursday 12/3 @ 11:59PM. Vote above!

  • This is an experimental feature of the event that we think will add an exciting wrinkle to the most competitive event of the year!

Platinum Division Update for Out of State Teams

HOW out of state players can play

Play With a Top-16 Player (calculated from Texas Majors results)

  • At the end of the 2020 season, the top 16 players will earn a bid to the Platinum Division.

  • These 16 players have the right to bring any player they want into the division with them - from Texas or out of state!.

8-16 Spots for Out of State Teams

  • Out of state players looking to compete against the best Texas has to offer (without an invitation from a top 16 player) must meet the following criteria:

    • Automatic Acceptance: Competed in any SRA pro-division in 2018 or 2019

    • Acceptance Pending TASR Review: Is SRA Premier qualified or competed at a high level in 2020

    • Remember: You can always get a bid by partnering with one of the top 16 Texas players who qualified for platinum!

  • The exact number of teams in the top division will be capped at 32, but the number could be less. The cutoff for accepted teams that apply will be variable dependent on making a clean cut bracket. The Gold Division will be open to anyone unable to play in the platinum division that is premier qualified or qualified at a similar level in another state. To “apply” for platinum division simply register for it. If you don’t make the cut you will be moved to Gold, and if it’s Platinum or bust for you then we’ll refund you if you don’t qualify for Platinum!

COVID Precautions for out of state teams

We are requiring that all teams that come from out of state either get a COVID test the week before the event or get a rapid COVID test upon arrival to ensure they are negative! No test means no play!
